Hi Kaneez,one of the most effective things in cleansing our conscience is a hadith.I can substantiate my claim by a saying of the Holy Prophet(S.A.W)"Hadith polishes the heart".Keeping this saying in view i leave for you a saying of Imam Ali(A.S)...."Do not fall into distress after having done something wrong for the door to repentence is always open"..Ihope you will share with me any hadith that you are aware of.
